Since joining Intel in 1979, Will has held numerous roles including corporate affairs leadership, manufacturing technology planning, strategic product planning and product management. He was director of Digital Enterprise Brand Management, and prior to that he was general manager of the Software and Solutions Group (SSG), reporting to the president and chief operating officer of Intel. In that capacity, Will managed the software products and enabling efforts within SSG. From 1993 to 1995, Will was the general manager of the Intel® Pentium® Pro processor team. He was promoted to vice president in 1996 and corporate vice president in 2003. Will received his bachelor’s degree in applied physics from Tufts College. He earned his master’s degree in management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

In 2004, he successfully completed the sale of Sagent Technologies Inc. to Group 1 Software Inc. (NASDAQ:GSOF). Andre then co-founded Pentaho Corporation in 2004, the world͛s most popular commercial open source business intelligence platform.
Andre has been a long time director of numerous successful software companies, including VA Software (NASDAQ:LNUX, Revolution Analytics, Zenoss Inc. (systems management), Infobright (data warehousing), Zend Corporation (the PHP company), Emailvision Ltd. (a leader in email and social marketing), Webtrends Corporation (a leader in digital marketing analytics), Issuer Direct (OTC:ISDR, a leading provider of corporate regulatory compliance solutions and services), UBmatrix Inc. (the creator of the eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL)) and Odyssey Financial Technologies Inc. (a Swiss-based private wealth and asset management software company).
Matt is a former startup founder, now angel investor and founder of escapecode ventures. He worked with StumbleUpon as a developer prior to their 2007 acquisition by EBay for $75 million. He founded and served as the CTO of DotSpots, Gripe and Cheers and has worked with companies like Nickelodeon and SMART Technologies to build high-scale, rich web experiences. Matt has a BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Calgary.
Martin is passionate about building technology companies and working with the entrepreneurs behind them. Drawing on over 25 years of business experience in a range of technology companies and industries, Martin brings a valuable perspective, which shows in his approach and contribution to AVAC’s team and investees. Prior to AVAC, he worked across product and program management, with a focus on strategy and product commercialization. Previous employers include Acceleware (high performance computing), Hemisphere GPS (telematics), Novatel Wireless (mobile), and Nortel (VoIP telephony). Martin has a Bachelor of Engineering and an MBA. His areas of expertise include leadership, combined with functional expertise and experience in general business management, technology commercialization, governance, and investment transactions.
Anand holds a Six Sigma Black Belt qualification. He is a professional engineer and holds certifications in Lean, Six Sigma and process re-engineering. He has had the privilege of learning about the deployment of continuous improvement strategies from the world renowned grandmaster – Dr. James Harrington – and the Kaizen guru – Masaki Imai. Anand also teaches Lean and continuous improvement at Mount Royal University. With 25 years experience, of which 18 years has been in “technology independent” operational improvement, Anand has experience using Lean, Six Sigma, BPI, BPM and BPR in a range of industries – utilities, downstream oil and gas, construction, banking, financial services, transportation, insurance, property development, manufacturing, high technology, electronic marketplaces, commodity markets, law enforcement, government, retail, facilities management, economic zones and healthcare.
Peter is COO, of Replicon Inc., the world leader in SaaS time tracking solutions for project oriented organizations. Peter’s corporate career includes serving as CFO of Wi-LAN Inc.(TSX:WIN), a leading designer, developer and supplier of broadband wireless data networks, and co-founder of the OFDM Forum. During Peter’s time at Wi-LAN the company made four acquisitions and raised $60 million in three equity financings. Prior to joining Wi-LAN in January 2000, Peter led the Calgary technology practice of KPMG, assisting a wide range of technology companies with issues related to strategy, alliance partners, financing, people, securities and tax in Canada and the US. Peter’s technology clients were involved in over $3 billion of equity, merger and debt transactions in the late 1990’s. Peter had lead Partner responsibility on many successful private technology companies and one of Canada’s 10 largest oil and gas producers. Peter’s technology client’s which were public at the time he was lead partner included: Axia NetMedia, Cell-loc, IVRNet, MetroNet, Position Inc., QSound, Sport Active Television, TeleBackup Systems and Wi-LAN. Peter is a Chartered Accountant and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1977 with a B.Comm degree.
Mike is Vice President Operations at NovAtel Inc. He has spent 25 years in the electronics industry and has held such positions as Project Manager, Systems Engineering Manager, Programs Manager, Director of Quality Assurance, Director of Technical Services and most recently Director of Business Operations. Mike is also a Vice President at the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) Canada, and a past Director at the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters of Alberta. Mike graduated with a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick in 1979.
